| The last week of
July 2000 was an exciting beginning for the PFD. A dream of several years began to take
shape. Construction of an Emergency Training Center (ETC) became reality. Although not
high tech, the training props will provide realistic hands-on training. The ETC will
consist of a four-story tower with sprinkler prop and a roof ventilation prop attached. It
will also include a burn building with sprinklers for safety as well as training. A smoke
maze will provide fundamental SCBA training. There is an area for extrication training. A
propane prop, complete with tank, tree and pit is in the final stage of the construction
plan. |
